Insert Molding Capabilities

Rather than using a two - shot process like overmolding to make a final part, insert molding typically involves placing a pre - formed part (usually metal) into a mold. Then, plastic is molded over it to produce a part with enhanced functional or mechanical features.

Insert molding enhances plastic parts with threaded inserts, improving their fastening strength and durability, especially for repeated assembly. Bushings and sleeves also increase abrasion resistance in moving components, ensuring long-lasting performance.

What is Insert Molding?

Insert molding works in a similar way. First, a pre - formed part (usually metal) is placed into a mold. Then, a thermoplastic resin is molded over it to make the final component. Once the production run finishes, the parts are packed in boxes and shipped soon after.
